Mark Jones AM - Chairman

Mark is the Ethics and Independence Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the Risk Management Group at KPMG Australia, and the ASPAC and Global Head for commercial conflicts across the KPMG network.

He has provided external audit, internal audit, risk management, compliance and various advisory services to many organisations in Australia, Asia, the UK and the US.

Mark has broad industry knowledge on corporate governance issues and has conducted board performance and governance reviews for many companies and other organisations in both Australia and overseas. He currently provides board performance, governance, internal audit and risk management services.

He has a Bachelor of Arts, with Honours, in Economics from the University of Sheffield, majoring in Mathematical Economics, and has a Senior Executive Master of Business Administration from the Melbourne Business School of the University of Melbourne.He is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors - Australia and has previously been a Registered Company Auditor.

Mark is the Deputy Chairman and Honorary Treasurer of The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health.

Mark was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2015 for significant service to medical research through leadership and executive roles in not-for-profit organisations.
