Ian Herdman

Ian joined the Jigsaw Board 5 years ago to assist in a review of web site functionality and communications strategy.
Ian has extensive corporate experience with ACI, Owens Illinois (USA) and Pacific Dunlop in Marketing, product innovation and business strategy. In the early 1980’s Ian co-founded MDA Mattingly which became Melbourne’s largest and most profitable advertising group focussing on retail and the latest production technologies. During this time as CEO, Ian facilitated a management buy out and group acquisitions into Australia and New Zealand. Mattingly and Partners is now part of WPP (UK) one of the world’s largest marcom groups.
In the early 90’s, Ian was approached to lead Grey in Melbourne and became Australian New Zealand CEO and Chairman of Grey Communications Group, growing the business into emerging high growth fields.
More recently, Ian has continued as a company director, returning in 2009 to complete the AICD’s graduate programme and updating current knowledge. Ian has held director and advisory positions with a number of emerging technology companies applying innovative business models.
Working with the Jigsaw Foundation has been both an inspirational experience and a source of satisfaction.
