Tessier Clefts

Rarely, facial clefting may occur which is more extensive than the more common cleft lip and palate. These clefts are of varying severity, from minor areas of hair loss or notching to complete clefts in the skin and bone. They are classified according to the ‘Tessier Clock’. Usually excellent results can be achieved with craniofacial surgical correction.
